Hi guys, I'm to the forum but deffinitly not new to the scene. Use to have an old toshiba laptop running Leopard until it had the touchpad go out among other things. So i have gotten a 14" hp laptop and have had little success getting it to run OSX leopard or snow leopard however leopard is actually bootable and i really dont want to go through the trouble of snow leopard install as from what i read its difficult. And my Processor will only boot if i use BUSRATIO=17 and CPUS=1 boot flags.
Basically what i want is to see if anyone has any suggestions as to install disc and im also thinking of purchasing a new wifi card as im having trouble with mine and unless someone else knows how to get it working im not going to sit around and wait like i did with the intel 3945abg card.
Specs are as follows:
Platform : Intel Calpella
Mainboard : HP 146A
Chipset : Intel HM55
Processor : Intel Core i5 430M @ 2266MHz
Physical Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR3-SDRAM )
Video Card : Intel(R) HD Graphics
Hard Disk : Western Digital WD5000BEKT-60KA9T0 (500GB)
DVD-Rom Drive : Hewlett-Packard CDDVDW TS-U633F
Monitor Type : Seiko Epson - 14 inches
Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Network Card : Broadcom BCM4313 802.11b/g LP-PHY
if i end up replacing the card i'd probably replace it with the BroadCom BCM94322MC as it is the same as in the Mac mini and should be supported no matter which i go with, Snow or Leopard. My only concern would be that my bios/motherboard wouldnt like it. But being a broadcom card like i already have shouldnt be a problem correct?
Thank you in advance for any help. Hoping to have a nice stay at InfiniteMac.
