================ EDIT - 2 hours - after istallation ===================

ISSUE : 100% usage of 1 core my CPU by syslogd - this process take 50% of my CPU performance at all - it's known issue ?!

Solution by google (http://www.virb.com/schrader/blog/531389) it works, but probably isn't right way to fix !

---------------------- EDIT - 4 hours - after installation ===================

Previously solution doesn't work too long :(

try this one (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=Print&client=printer&f=125&t=73954) - seems to be ok for now, I'll be back with more after testing.

----------------------- EDIT - 24h after installation =======================

New installation of Leopard, this time I dont have any issues with "syslogD" process. --> testing

Had Rev. 1 installed, somehow screwed itself up with Software Update, so I downloaded/installed Rev. 2:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+
MB: FIC ktbc51g
RAM: 2GB PC3200 DDR400
GPU: ATI HD Radeon 2600PRO (512MB, dev. id: 9589)
AUDIO - OnBoard: Realtek ALC880
LAN - nForce4 (forcedeth)

None of the drivers worked, so I have to install the ones I had working previously through kext helper (internet/audio).

AS FOR THE DISPLAY IT STILL DOESNT WORK! I don't know why.

Now the first time I booted up Rev. 2 after installing it it said that ATINDRV.kext (or something), the ATV_Triakis plugin could not be used. I noticed my device ID wasn't added to the ATIX2000.kext info.plist file so I added it, repaired permissions, restarted, then it said that the ATIx2000.kext and the previous one above could not be used. RAM : 2 Gig PC 3200
GPU: on board Geforce 6150 LE didn't function properly, Now Geforce 8400 GS 256mb Full support :D
Audio: Realtek ALC883 8-channel High Definition Audio fully working using ALC883_DS3.pkg
LAN: Realtek RTL8201CL did not work properly, installed a new Belkin card and worked out of the box.

Everything works as it should I have had no crashes what so ever. ilife and front row work flawlessly everything is really responsive and much faster then windows. About this mac everything thats been reported to give problems with osx86 works perfect for me.

Also I think that my vga is not fully supported, do you have any good kext that I can change.

And last but not least I can't load into Leopard without the installation dvd and I can't make it work in dual boot with my Vista.

OSX: Zephyroth's 10.5.2 Rev. 2 (EFI, MBR)
Processor: AMD 4200+ X2 64 AM2 (works without problems, sees both cores)
MB: MSI K9N Neo v.1 (no problem)
Graphics: GeForce 6200TC, 256MB (no problem, but sees only 128MB (?). Anyway, I am going to buy better one later, after I'see it is realy stable.)
AUDIO: integrated -realtek (don't know which exactly, but works nice)
LAN: nForce Networking Controller (doesn't work), PCI Realtek 1839 - works nice
HDD: Hitachi 200GB SATA-II (XP), Seagate 320GB SATA-II(Leo), Maxtor 15GB IDE (porn :))
dual boot EasyBCD 1.5.2

I am using final cut, motion and Toast, everything without problems. Only I got system to fall down was when I was using NTFS disk very frequently (about 6 folders at once copied to leo disk - every folder had few GB)

HDD: 200 GB SATA
Chipset: Nforce4 430
DVDRW #1: HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H20L fully functional
DVDRW #2: LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S fully functional
9in1 Media card reader=fully functional
Firewire and USB both work
Restart and Shutdown= fully working after turning off legacy USB mode in the BIOS

This is my first time trying any OS X version on my system. Looks like I chose the right one to install, thanks Zephyroth this worked great on my system all except the onboard LAN. But, a few bucks at Wal-Mart fixed that problem.

Edit: Found out for some reason iChat doesn't work for me in rev2 but it does with rev1... but that's the only thing that doesn't work.

I have the Asus A8N-SLI Premium. Have you tested networking with forcedeth? It crashes at large files with a kernel panic. The forcedeth-v driver from Leo4All works better. Have you installed AC-97 Audio or ALC850? I now have SPDIF out in my output list, with AC-97 I hadn't. But I've not tested it ;-)

I have an Opteron 185 CPU which is nearly the same like the FX-60 (2x,2.6 Ghz, 2x 1MB L2-Cache). I've it running at 2.86 Ghz on Zephyroth 10.5.1, on Leo4all V3 it can be pushed to 3,03 GHz. Xbench Score 177,93 without disk test @ 3,03 GHz. The ATA-133 IDE disks had a great performance on OS X, the actual ATA-100 or SATA HD's are much slower in random access. A better nForce HD driver would be handy.

I am using ALC850 from start, I also have SPDIF output. But test it cuz its not working here.
I have disabled both onboard LAN connections and using D-Link USB WiFi stick. Just to minimise hardware recognition for mac, and as it is i require only one internet receiver.

I mostly toyed with different kernels 9.2.0 , 9.2.0 sleep and 9.2.2 modbin. (9.2.0 is the best, sleep one is OK, modbin 9.2.2 crashes sometimes)

My CPU was also overclocked @ 2.8 GHz, and i was not having any issues, but currently for testing purpose i am running on stock speeds. Will see how system reacts for installation of different softwares.

Regarding SATA performance. Its perfect. The file transfer, installation is as par equivalent to other OS's speeds.

I gotta check Burning capability of my Asus SATA DVD RW. will be doing that soon.

Currently its running smooth...only problem i got .., just 2 times, in Firefox browser. The PC just hanged. No idea why.

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
MB - DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR
RAM - 2GB DDR 400 (512MB x 4)
HD - 4 SATA 7200rpm HDD
ODD - 1 IDE DVD-RW (Plextor 740-A)
Video - XFX Geforce 7950GT 512MB PCI Express

Works perfectly after flashing bios of the video card.

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (SSE2 only)
MB - Gigabyte G8-K8NF (nforce-4 chipset
Audio - AC97 (onboard) -- driver from DVD
Ethernet - Nvidia4 onboard (forcedeth)
HD - SATA 7200 75GB ST380811AS - Seagate
DVD RW - SONY DRU-820A ATAPI/IDE
Video - Sapphire (ATI) 2600XT 256MB with CI & QE working via natit/netkas.org

- Had to boot install with "-x" to get video working; installed drivers from netkas and video is perfect
- Default 'forcedeth' driver on DVD seemed to crash persistently and predictably after moving 1-2GB; installed the latest from insanelymac (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=12933&st=0&p=82071&#entry82071) and all is good.
- Had to use MBR; GUID would not boot, got the 'b0' and none of the workarounds would fix.

The audio is a little weird for the system "beep", sounds more like static. But, itunes plays back fine.

npanxx, your system alerts are sounding like static because you have a SSE2 processor.

I had this exact problem until I upgraded to SSE3. It's best to pick up a cheap SSE3 processor off ebay :)

You may find quicktime crashes when playing divx too.

@ npanxx:

If you want to upgrade your board try an Athlon 64 4000+ Socket 939 - it's about 31 Euro in Germany. Xbench score 85-88, it's a great and cheap cpu.

Hi,

It's my first post and my english is very very bad. I'm French, sorry.
I want to say, where do you download this release?

I hope you understand me :-/

Information on where to obtain OSx86 distrobutions is not allowed on this site. Subtle hints can be given... such as "check your favorite torrent sites"... direct links and specific directions on where to obtain these will be deleted though. Google is also your friend. :-)
