These patches were created using DSDT Editor (by el coniglio) and uses this new feature that extracts the DSDT, applies the patches, fixes known compile errors, compiles and saves the patched dsdt.aml in your desktop.

Nice, have I understood this correctly if I assume these fixes are motherboard specific?
Or can it detect errors in a dsdt and fix things independent of the model?

I have a GA-870A-UD3 and I'm having firewire issues so I have to use cpu=3 in my Boot.plist to get any useful performance out of my presonus firebox when I use it with pretty my any DAW.
The issue is addressed here but the instructions seem pretty cryptic to me and doesn't help me to solve the issue http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=196359

if the model of your mobo is not listed
you can use the Generic

firewire
in many cases lost hotplug
so I'm not using this fix

I'm not fixing this problem of firewire
and works very well
just showed up the message at boot

but each case is unique

This also failed to work on my Dell M1330.

The patcher runs fine, but it still fails on reboot. I'm getting DSDT_DEBUG? Does this DSDT file it creates completely replace the old one I had (a generic M1330 (with Nvidia))? Can't seem to get past the debug screen!
