I have been breaking my head with DSDT for the last 4 days to fix the issue with sleep.

The laptop goes to sleep but the fan is still working and cannot wake up from sleep. I need to power it off completely and restart.

I have extracted the DSDT from ubuntu and have tried various fixes but still no headway.

The fixes I have tried are:
- LPCB (AppleLPC loads up)
- DTGP
- _WAK
- removed LCD

and few others but no success yet.
The USB and SATA show up as built-in without any patches and I have tried with the patch as well but to no avail.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am attaching the unmodified DSDT and modified DSDT.

Thanks
-M

P.S: Challenge has been to figure out why sleep is failing. No errors show up in system.log and kernel.log. Any insights there would be great.

P.P.S: After editing the DSDT, I have been successful in getting the speedstep working.

Attempted to use the dtdt installer from tonymac, but ended up losing the core installation. Got any suggestions or good links for getting the modification done without risking anything else?

Ended up using DSDT editor to save existing system. Imported the modified DSDT file and rebooted. System appeared to be OK at first, but after I used the power button and selected sleep mode, the system did not sleep on screen, but system became unresponsive. Ended up power-cycling. Upon reboot, the system would get passed the selection to enter additional boot parameters, and would then hang on the Chameleon icon on the top of the screen. I was not able to recover the installation and started over clean. Still unable to sleep correctly and looking for options. SYstem is Dell E6410, i7, 4 GB. Installation based onhttp://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=219229&mode=threaded no errors but cannot update past 10.6.3
