Hi guys,
I've ran Leopard in the past and now running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and all of my hardware is functional except for the audio. I've never been able to get a working kext for my ALC889A codec except for the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext which is fine unless you need to use 3.5mm headsets or more than 1 set of speakers.

I've tried many ALC889A kexts which none of them work at all(because they are specifically for Intel I suppose).
Also, the VoodooHDA comes out as garbled/static noise which upon attempting to change output/input devices kernel panics. Tried several versions and all seem to have the same result.

I do understand that making a specific kext for ones audio is complex, I attempted to build one from scratch back in Leopard and failed miserably. I'm curious could the VoodooHDA be adapted for my ALC899A using my codec dump? I'll attach it just in case. Oh, I made that codec dump in Ubuntu quite a while back so if I need to make a new codec dump for any reason just let me know!

Well, thanks in advance for any suggestions at all, much appreciated!

I've tried the Realtek ALC8xx with the ALC885/889a HDAEnabler from MultiBeast and the sound icon in the menubar is greyed out, in the sound preference pane there are no output/input devices found. Am I missing something?
Thanks for your suggestion though, I appreciate all the help I can get!
