Rev 2 IS Sleep Fixed???

I saw in another forum somebody claimed to have a intel osx86 at 10.5.2 with working sleep.

Does Rev 2 fix the amd so we can now use sleep? If Yes Does S1 or S3 work

As I know in the last rev sleep would crash the pc, or it wouldn't wake the usb devices or something, Ive had it turned off since then

Anyone with the knowlege got any ideas??

I heard it was suppose to, haven't tried yet. Will confirm once I do. =)

You can try the sleep kernel, go to irc.osx86.hu #10.5 room.

Whatīs your sleep mode?

open a terminal and type

sudo -s
(password)

pmset -g | grep hibernatemode (with this command youīll know your sleep mode (0-1-3-5-7)

(if you have in your bios S3 type in terminal)

pmset -a hibernatemode 3

0 - Old style sleep mode, with RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super-fast wake.
1 - Hibernation mode, with RAM contents written to disk, system totally shut down while “sleeping,” and slower wake up, due to reading the contents of RAM off the hard drive.
3 -The default mode on machines introduced since about fall 2005. RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically.
5 - This is the same as mode 1, but it’s for those using secure virtual memory (in System Preferences -> Security).
7 - This is the same as mode 3, but it’s for those using secure virtual memory.


donīt forget we arenīt a real Mac, in intel you can sleep , but not for all systems.

Thanks guys, i'll give it a go, I can use s1 or s3 but I mainly have bios set to s1 as I think it stops my usb devices turning off.

without usb I can never wake my pc (using usb kb and mouse) ps2 still works.

In vista I set the pc into away mode so it keeps it ready to record tv shows.

which mode would be best in leopard so eyetv can still record my shows, even after sleep or is it not possible?

away mode in vista works if you turn on media sharing and then it will still log out and sleep monitor but keeps pc open for media center extenders and recording.

Hopefully I can find something in leopard that works the same.

I always use S3 mode and it works but only itīs perfect in my intel system, in my amd i canīt wake up from sleep properly, sometimes after wake up i have problems with my usb devices or with my graphics....iīm going to try with diferents power supplies with a perfect support for the standard ACPI 2.0

I agree, after waking up from sleep mode, I get no display, and sometimes I don't get a response from my hard drive. =)
