Hi to' all! I have a Toahiba Satellite L40 with Realtek 8187B wiFi.-

Don't remember if when Installed iPC 10.5.6 i select the driver for the 8187B.. By the way i don't select USB patch but ps/2 driver keyboard.
Keyboard mouse USB worked
Im system profile USB are recognize but no Realtek device found.

I found some tutorial for install the Realtek: so i have Installed a patched iousbfamily kext.

After reboot Realtek devote found in system profile. Mouse working.

So i install official Realtek driver and ask me reboot.

At boot pc stop during loading in the screen with the Apple with a icon (i think is hardware error).

So i forcely boot off and reboot.-

Pc start but in system profile no device detected..

So i deleted the iousbfamily kext from system/library/extension and copy (not install) the patched iousbfamily kext (this step maybe an error)

Reboot

Mouse USB don't work. In system profile in USB no data found.

So i install ethos time the patched iousbfamily and reboot: nothing change.

If i try installing Realtek driver same error at boot..

Pls Help-

I solved:
- with Pacifier i extract IOUSBfamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage.kext from iPC Install DVD.
- delete IOUSBfamily.kext from /system/library/extrensions
- Install the 2 Kext.
- Repair Disk Permission
- Reboot

Now Mouse work and under System Profil/Usb there is the Realtek card RTL8187B
