Hi all, having previously owned applemac's for years, I recently moved to the dark side and went for a PC.

Now I have done that, I am missing OSX like mad. I am currently running a dual boot with Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu 11.04.

It is Vital I keep my windows Installation, so a dual boot between OSX and Windows would be ideal.

I have never installed OSX on a PC based system, and am looking to install it on both my laptop and PC. (Prefferably Snow Leopard, but Leopard will be just fine)

I have the original Installation discs, from when I had my last, mac, unfortunatley I dont have the Mac anymore! (it died)

Anyway, not sure what info you need, but here are the two systems I would like to run it on:

1> My Laptop - A Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz
Display15,4" 1280x800
HDD 300 GB 5500 rpm
Memory 4096 MB
GPU NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS 256mb
WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n
LAN 100Base-TX
Optical drive Blu-ray

2> My PC - A Custom Built System with the following:
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H (rev. 2.1) - motherboard - ATX - Socket AM3 - AMD 890GX
AMD Phenom X6 1090t CPU
16gb Corsair Vengence DDR3
128gb OCZ Agility 3 (Sata III) SSD
1tb Samsung 7200rpm HDD
Blu Ray Drive
Onboard Graphics (using HDMI), Sound and Networking.

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated. I have used many google searches and Wiki etc... but am finding many discrepencies in installation processes and hardware support.

Thank you in advance Ryan

you're wasting your time on this forum just like me. I think its more like specific need based forum like super geek info exchange on narrow subjects.

By the looks of it no ones going to guide a total noob .
you just have to have to get info about the starter questions somewhere else and come here to get apple news or S.Jobs worn socks.
