Hi everyone ive burnt the image to a DVD but while its booting it just hangs after a while and then reboots...

Ive never seen anyone on insanelymac or here with the same problem.

Im reburning the image on another dvd just to make sure it wasnt badly burned, ill be back saying if it worked or not but please leave your thoughts here.

My computer:

AMD 3500+ (SSE2 only)
ABIT AN8 (nForce 4 ultra)
nvidia geforce 6800gt

EDIT: new dvd didnt work as well.

Inject into the ISO a SSE2 kernel with transmac, you can find it in the irc.osx86.hu #10.5 room

@ paperless Transmac is for windows, open the iso and replace the mach_kernel with the sse2 kernel, burn and install.

@ 1207FX Yes, you can try copy pc_efi_v80 folder to the ISO root, open a terminal and install.

Ok ill look into it.

But why do i have to do this? I Thought it was for both, sse2 and sse3.

The mach_kernel of rev 1 is only for SSE3 not for SSE2

No luck on irc, ive got a JaS 10.4.8 DVD (tiger :S), can i take the SSE2 kernel from there and inject it into this DVD's iso?

EDIT: NVM

After a search around here i found a link to it :D.

Ill let everyone know how it went, promise.

Sorry for double posting..

It didnt work, it got farther than where it used to hang and restart but then it reached a point where it just wouldnt move..

Some of the log messages that apeared before it reached that stage:

SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed and a bunch of bla bla bla.. it shows this a bunch of times, then advance, then did it again, then advance, then stopped after some other errors:

disksk3s3: I/O error.

Was it a problem burning the image? Im out of DVDs now... ive installed tiger that i already had on DVD just to get the feeling of having mac os again.

hmm so downloading the mach_sse2 then renaming it to mach_kernel and injecting it into the downloaded image did not work? or did you just delete mach_kernel and inject the new file as mach_sse2???

the file wasnt called mach_sse2 :/ so i just replaced the mach_kernel that was there for the new one.

It aparently didnt work, theres always the possibility of bad burn but.. :/

delete the ss3 kernel and replace for the new one, the name must be "mach_kernel"

"SAM Multimedia" is for a bad burn, you must reburn the ISO

well yeah then it is probably a burn problem..i just dont have any more dvds to try it on :/
