I have a MSI R5770 graphic card which uses which uses ATI radeon hd 5770 chipset and its full supported on SnowLeo 10.6.8.

I can boot it with graphicsenabler=NO, and everything works (full resolution, 3D).. The only problem is bad font smoothing. When i use my old Nvidia 9400gt i have much better fonts then with the ATI card.

The Nvidia 9400gt works only with graphicsenabler=yes, but full resolution and 3D work fine.

So I m guessing that Nvidia has better hardware and better rendering? Is there any fix for the ATI card? Mybe other kexts or smthing?

Do you use the lion kexts?
Because if you´re booting without injecting the framebuffer, it will not load the right one.
So i would look which framebuffer is currently in use.

The Framebuffer has to be Vervet.
You can inject it via Bootloader, dsdt or kext.

Hmm.. i tried some of your suggestions, but not much success..

First I tried downloading Aty_init and replaced Uakari with Vervet, and not much improvement. Almost same like before.

Then I downloaded different Efi strings, same thing.. They got the name of the card right, but no improvement in font rendering.

Well, I m gonna have to put old Nvidia card back in -.- Those fonts annoy me to much -.-

P.S. If you use EFI injection, can u send me the XML or HEX file so I can try yours XD

Hmm, I think i found out whats wrong.. My monitor gets flagged as CRT instead LCD when i use the ATI card.. Probably has something to do with HDMI connector...
