Hi,

I have an old laptop I'd like to try to throw snow leopard on.

The specs are:
AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile TL-50 (1.6 GHz, 2x 256 KB L2 cache)
ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100
3GB DDR2 667 Ram
160gb Sata hdd
Atheros AR5007EG WiFi
Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC

Sounds doesnt have to work and its usually docked so wfi doesnt either I'm really just want to try os x out on it. I dont currently have access to another mac could someone point me in the right direction?

Try Hazard edition 10.6.2, it seems to work well with most AMD machine. Retail might be hard.

Well hazards 10.6.2 apparently doesnt like my laptop. If I boot with -v I get to waiting for device with a uuid of something - something- something and it locks up. Any ideas?

I would start using -x -v -F cpus=1 and try it.
for my system to get it started, I used -x -v -F cpus=1 maxmem=4094 fsb=200000000

Well now it hangs up at mounting ntfs -3g. Saying its a read only filesystem... but if I remove the partitions on the drive and then try installing I get a com.apple.bootlist error

didn't see that you are installing on your laptop....have you made your partition that you are going to install ACTIVE?
