I have SL 10.6.8 installed but i cannot fix the resolution
I am using a zotac 9400GT 1GB graphics card
it always boots into 1024x768
i have tried "Graphics Mode"="1440x900x60" in the boot and it works but typing it everytime is difficult
i tried editing the com.apple.Boot.plist but it doesn't work
are drivers available??
or what can i do to fix this

I still can't get it why it didn't worked by editing the boot.plist and why you used 1440x900x60 where "x60" should have have been "x32" as 32bit color is the maximum color depth 60bit color depth does not exists yet??!!! Instead you should have used: <string>1440x900x32</string>.
You have to make sure to copy the com.apple.Boot.plist on your desktop then edit the copied one and replace it in Extra folder, as you can't overwrite the original one, it wont let you save it.
Still if it doesn't work, you can download and install the Chameleon boot loader, it will let you choose the resolution and some more options.

i dont have a com.apple.Boot.plist in /Extra/ but there is a org.chameleon.Boot.plist
secondly i edited the com.apple.Boot.plist in the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration as per ur suggestion and the org.chameleon.Boot.plist in the /Extra folder
but there is no luck
i am using chameleon at present
any other suggestion
thx in advance

Try editing the chameleon which is in the system preferences and also check your display setting.

i have already done that and it says chameleon RC4 in the system perferences but i have updated to RC5
i think its a problem with my video card
its a 9400GT 1GB
but when i open the system profiler i can see my graphics card but with 4MB VRAM
how can i fix this??
thx
