Apple today released Safari 3.1 (http://www.apple.com/safari) for both Mac and Windows, which the company claims "loads web pages 1.9 times faster than IE 7 and 1.7 times faster than Firefox 2." Apple also claims that Safari 3.1 is capable of running JavaScript "up to six times faster" than other browsers.
I've not yet had the chance to try out 3.1, but if you have, then please post back and let us know your thoughts on whether or not Safari has improved.

Hi R0GUE, thanks for the news, I just installed it. Here are a few pictures.

It runs very nicely, and seems very lightweight. I have always loved Safari for its light & fast rendering though.

Lets see....you try first then let us know. ;D LOL. Just kidding. I don't think it is. You will have to eventually patch with Marvin's, :(. :D

I'll be installing this on the hack soon, but for now I've installed it on my old G4 PowerBook and I have to say I am quite pleased because it fixed the dreaded GOOGLE MAPS ZOOMING BUG!!!!!!! Today has been a hard day for me, but this nearly made up for it :) Now I can zoom in AND out of maps :D Safari 3.1 FTW!

i just updated my hack and checked with marvin's for files that might need patching. nothing came up except for a networkconfig file in one of the frameworks. not sure if this is at all related to these updates though. if anyone tries to update and then can't boot into leopard anymore, let me know and i can give you my cpuid patcher file.
