because we don't regularly update our os's to the latest version. I laughed kind of because I'm sure it's hard to get the virus. But I guess its a good time for us to start using ant-viruses? Also, I'm shocked that the news is legally allowed to advertise Hackintosh because Apple must be pissed because they'd probably losing more money since less people will buy a 1 grand/2 grand overpriced low-end hardware computer with mac operating system on it. I don't know how many people like the look of a mac anyways except for us nerds because I've had people look at my mac and said it looks complicating and they seemed tolike windows look more. I don't know why, I personally like the look of a mac more but i'm kind of nerdy.

I also loved the fact that the news acted like Hackintosh was popular, when I don't know anyone who owns a Hackintosh computer. I actually know more people with macs. I'm the obscure one because I'm not rich to afford that stuff and I think its wasting money on weak low-end hardware just for an operating system. Macs usually have some low-end hardware in it and cost much more than a laptop/pc-desktop.

If you ever owned a real Mac computer, you know that they are simply wonderful, wonderful quality. Best computers in the world in my eyes. Also, I know of quite a lot of people who began using Mac OS X on their regular x86 machines and ended up saving and buying Macs. I suppose this is why Apple doesn't really do anything against the OSx86 scene in general. It's best advertisement for their great products and ultimately beneficial for the company. My MBA truly is the best computer I ever had, I just LOVE it. You would love your Mac, Godofwar, I'm sure :)

It has low-end hardware tho compared to pc/laptops probably half its price. Tho, you are right about being kind of an advertisement only if you can't get the Hackintosh to run perfectly(which I haven't yet, but I was assuming that was Hazards Distro related where it takes about a minute and 30 seconds to boot up apple snow leopard.) I'm still trying to figure out how to get retail to work without a bootdisc in my harddrive because when I install Chameleon it doesn't work because the apple screen doesn't load...

The hardware just works flawlessly, runs and runs and runs, that's what most people care about. But once you get used to the form factor of a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air etc., if you are like me, you fall in love and naturally don't even think about using anything else. Don't get me wrong, I started hackintoshing and I love Mac OS X on regular hardware. But real Macs are the best. Sure they do have their price, but save if you can and it's worth it. Just my little view on things mate.

And it's not only the best advertisement if one doesn't get it running properly. I had it running perfectly back in the days and I eventually bought a MBP, then later switched to my beloved MBA. I know Puttabong did so and many others here.

Well, you sound like me. :)

I've been hackintoshing for 3-4 years now, but I'm still saving up money for a Macbook Pro (You know, student live ain't that easy). But if I had the chance I would buy the real thing :)

But I've paid for the installation discs/app unlike the most here. ;)

Me too, I barely get 15€ per month for the Macbook. I get around ~300€ of money and I need to pay my phone bill, internet bill and food with it (luckily I live in a student block).. :)
