keyboard and mouse frozen at installation

hi there

i have a compaq presario laptop and ive been able to get to the install screen where you choose your language. however, the mouse and keyboard are frozen. even if i plug a usb mouse in, it doesnt do anything and just sits there. ive searched the forums and stuff, but i couldnt find an answer.

what can i do? if there is an answer, just give me the link. thanks in advance

restart the installation disk or simply move the mouse if its not working. usually if both devices are frozen at the welcome screen, you usually need to restart the installation so they can be detected. happens to me sometimes, on my desktop.
