time machine backups work but you have to manually install the bootloader

install the bootloader by Zephyroth' DVD?But it's also bad!

If you do a backup from time machine
you must do this afterwards
1 - Boot with the DVD.
2 - Press F8, then type "-s"
3- type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"
4 - type "dd if=./guid/boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY bs=512 count=1 (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)
5 - type "dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1
6 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8"

for masterboot record
backup from time machine
restart with dvd (press key as if you were going to install)

from utilites choose disk util and unmount all partitions on osx hard drive, quit diskutil

from utilities choose terminal, and then do this

type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"
type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8"

reboot

I tried Restoring from a TM backup ones, no luck. The restored OS isnt what it was before trust me. I don't know for Intel but for AMD its a no go.

Good luck anyway

Consider to read my article about the Disk Utility. You can find it in the Genius Bar.

download and burn this iso,
http://free.nchc.org.tw/clonezilla-live/stable/
it backup and restore my hfs+ partition perfectly with filesystem recognized and compression(GHOST can't do this)(compress ratio:about 40%). This is the easiest way I found to backup and restore a hackintosh partition, you don't need to worry about your mbr/bootloader and anything else. Remember use -q2 option:)
The project's mainpage is http://drbl.nchc.org.tw/clonezilla/clonezilla-live/, with some introductions. but it is in Traditional Chinese...
