Hi,

i recently installed the first release of Zephyroth Leopard 10.5.1 REV 1 and when i as soon as i get to desktop it crashes in 3-4 seconds and comes up with a blank screen with a cursor (non blinking) in the top left.. then shows the log in screen and freezes

i did remove all the GE and NV kexts from the installation as it used to give a kernal panic when booting.

i am currently using the ROOT/ADMIN user name to log in as i forgot the user/pass i created

system specs -
Amd Athlon 3000 venice
DFI nforce 4 ultra-d mobo (currently using the marvell yukon lan port for my ethernet conn)
EVGA 7600GT
160 GB Seagate SATA HDD
1 GB Corsair XMS

would the freeze have anything to do with forcedeth or ionnetworking kexts?

pls help

thanx

dont really want to try rev 2 as it has too many options during install and im sure ill mess up there..ive finally got so far with rev 1 but im just one step away from getting to the desktop.. hence i just want to get this sorted.

well in this case, post your specs and boot using this flag: -x

By the way, Devil in Disguise, I also have the DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D, it's a very nice motherboard for AMD OSx86 use! :-)

have tried -x as well and same issue

puttabong - after zeph's release for amd users i believe :D otherwise i thought the nforce chipset was a major no-no for hackintosh users
