Hi people,

I have a question about stability, performance and else of other software, not implemented in Leopard. I mean something like Adobe products, Toast, Final Cut, Motion,...
How is it going on your computers? And what are your configurantions?

I am thinking to try it on comp, maybe upgrade hardware, if there is any chance to work stable in good performance in Final Cut and Motion. So I need to here your opinion. I would buy original mac, but as student, I cannot afford it. And need to practice and learn something new and more.

In my part-time job in studio I am working in FCP, at home I in Premiere and After Effects, and I definitely think, FCP is better (but I don't want to provoke and leads this discussion what soft is better :)). And I would also like to learn Motion instead of After Effects.

Thank you. And what else to say...? Let's discus :)

All of the Adobe Products, as well as any third party applications that I have tried in the past were working.

I'm sorry, but I don't know about Final Cut or Motion, because I don't use them. But they should most likely work flawlessly as well, if your system is OSx86 compatible.

DoiX, Final Cut Studio 2 -> 4 GB of disk space is required to install all the applications (Final Cut Pro, Color, DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Motion, Cinema Tools, LiveType, Compressor, and Apple Qmaster), and an additional 55 GB is required to install all optional templates, content, and tutorials. ;-)

I'm working with Final Cut Studio 2, its working good for me! but I'm not much as in advance level to know if it working 100% or not. its working for me for what I want :)

PS: you need good hardware to have good use of this studio.

Great guys, thank you for your answers. I'm very curious especialy about stability of FCP and Motion, so after I try it, I'll share my experience with you :).

Btw, ka911, what is your hardware config?

I can't vouch for FCP or Motion, but I've moved all of the apps I used on my G5 such as the Creative Suite, QuarkXPress etc, over to my hack and they all work and perform as expected. The migration, for me, has been fairly transparent. Performance has been fantastic which obviously makes me very happy.

Ummm...created this thread before, just phrased it differently in terms of software that would would be best for Mac. I'll add my response here later. =)

The only program I've found a bit unstable on my system is Firefox - it crashes every few hours with the Divide by Zero error. Other than that no issues whatsoever running 3rd party apps :)

Well, nice hardware :). What is your mobo?

If it will go nice on my AMD piece as it is going on yours, it will be enough just to buy new Graphic card and more RAM, so I will save some money. I am still curious about Motion. I canot wait for weekend to try it :)
