Boot with "-v" instead of just allowing the counter to run down. My gut says kernel panic. What kind of motherboard do you have?

well, first you need to know a little more about your system before you can install to it in order to customize your install. Then your system should work (except for a few easy fixes after installation such as graphics, audio, and ethernet).

The biggest reason your installation isn't working is possibly because you aren't selecting the proper chipset for your board. When your motherboard interacts with your hard drives, it does so through the chipsets on board (both north and south bridge chipsets are used for different things but knowing both is a big help). knowing what chipset to customize your install will allow you to boot to OS X.

Now, after you've successfully installed to your system, boot with -v to follow the boot-up process. This will allow us to help diagnose any problems that arise or cause the boot process to halt.

Hope this helps.

see http://www.infinitemac.com/showthread.php?t=1467 as it lists a bunch of reasons that the computer will show this. also, why are you formatting it in fat32 when HFS is native to Mac OS X?
