Well, I didn't leave Microsoft and Linux for good since those are my necessesities for everyday app development and fun. I also test prerelease software applications for Microsoft not as a beta tester, but as a software developer. And Microsoft Windows still holds 92% percent of the market. I've used many Linux distros, some I can name on top of my head are Sabayon (currently using as well), Gentoo, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Fedora Core, Freespire, and Mandriva.

I still use Windows, but am considering for buying a new MacBook Pro when the 2nd generation Penryn processors come out (Centrino 2) in addition to the notebook's new foam factor change. So the question is when I am purchasing, likely next-to-next month.

I've been using Mac OS X on both my AMD and Intel machines to begin my transition to getting used to the O/S since December. =)) I see many advantages and many disadvantages, but I still find Mac OS X appealing, user-friendly, and longer lasting in terms of quality and reliability. =)
