10.5.4 updaten auf 10.5.6, wie?
Hallo,
Last edited by FirstHackTosh; 12-22-2008 at 08:52 PM. |

Leo4Allv4 can be updated to 10.5.6 using native Apple update IF you also have the Voodoo kernel running (use mach_kernel.voodoo during update) as well as a Decrypt kext, an IntelCPUPMDisabler kext, and an AppleSMBIOSEFI kext. first get those running in your currently installed system. if you need these files PM me, I'll get them to you, and we can start up in a new English thread and I can help you more from there... BTW, you won't need DSDT Patcher as the final release for 10.5.6 does not require this... that was only the beta variant. |

Okay, thanks for reply :-)
We can talk also english, no problem, I hope ;-) Have I to put the Decrypt, IntelCPUPMDisabler and AppleSMBIOSEFI kext in the extension folder before reboot? And yes, I need these kext :-) Second, how can I be sure I am booting from Voodoo? Is it the 9.5.0 in the systemprofiler? Thrid, I only can boot with the Leo4All DVD in the drive and i have to select the drive to boot from HD, don't know why ... I also have activated the partition with fdisk ... no changes. So, I can't boot in verbose mode to see which kernel is loaded. Thanks for help FHT P.S. You can move this thread in another section, if you want to. P.P.S. Do you understand german? :-) |

yeah I understand some german... I took three years of it in High school (but that was about 10 years ago).
have you installed chameleon to resolve the bootloader issues? I'll PM you with the kexts. to see if you are booting Voodoo you can see if it says kernel 9.5.0 in system profiler (or -v will give that readout... but you said you can't do that way) You could always just reinstall the kernel and KNOW then that you have it installed. I don't really see the need to move the thread right now. it should be ok. i don't know why anyone would have an issue with us talking in here in English if you started the thread in Deutsch... how is your HD partitioned? GUID partition scheme or MBR? |

I think chameleon is been installed. How can I check this? And if not, how can I reinstall it without to install X again?
When I select dvd as boot device and let the countdown go by it booted with chameleon bootloader. HD is in GUID partition scheme. First I have a b0 error, then I used fdisk for activate the partition. Maybe fdisk was the wrong tool, I don't know. I have used this "how to": http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiver...hp/t22844.html |

you don't need to reinstall your system.. just download the chameleon installer... (right side under "Releases"... you'll see Installer in the name. (watch out though, it has music in it... you can "show contents" and delete it and the installer will work fine) use the DVD to boot up then install this file making sure you select the proper drive to boot. All should be fine then. |
