just run graphicsenabler=y. my old 7900GS was immediately picked up by it and worked FLAWLESSLY. make sure you use the new chameleon bootloader. hope this helps

r683 or whatever, right? remove any enablers, (NVInject, Natit, NVEnabler, etc) and reboot, and at the disk selection screen, (chameleon screen) type "GraphicsEnabler=Y" without the quotes, and if it works, go into your chameleon preference pane in system preferences, and check the box next to 'graphicsenabler' and click back then you're done. thats how my 7900 was picked up, which is obviously a tad newer than your 7800, so yours should work. good luck

you will get this working!
is the card agp or pci express?
you will definately get this working using dsdt and you can match the same id's as a apple 7800 card. It does sound like you need to patch the nv4 and geforce kexts with your id which is not needed if you fake the id in dsdt (a smart trick i might add) let me know LS also you can ask the guy here what he did with his 7800gt card. however, that is definately pci express http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic....=7684&start=50 Last edited by lemonsoda; 01-06-2011 at 06:59 PM. |

so here is what i achieved till now, i installed iatkos 10.6.3 s3 v2 and after installation i have qe/ci enabled BUT if i update then it wont work anymore or even without update only if i modify the extension and the Extension.mkext Cache file gets updated then it doesnt work anymore, so i was thinking i can extract the cache file and just use those extensions, which i tried but after all i tried i cant get it to work anymre but if i put the Extensions.mkext cahe file inside then it works. so the 7800 should work but the question is how, btw. how do i use dsdt file? i never used it, or at least not that i am aware of or at least not concious. thank you in advance
AHH btw. it is PCI-E 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. Last edited by shadowsa; 01-06-2011 at 10:27 PM. |
