Try booting into safemode and then
1. EFI string with Custom. (Dont select the readymade card)
2. Any of the patched nvidia Kexts (Remove NV* abd GE*), Freshly install the patched kexts. You can get here in downloads section or search for 9f23
3. If yours is 512MB..it might need ROM Modding. search for "Nvinject"+ "512"
If its not a problem with Nvidia..then you can try
1. Use different kernel
2. Use different AppleSmbios kext

How does one know if its an nvidia problem or not? (ie. trying a different smbios)
for the download section.. where is that? (I looked under the Wiki/Software and did not see any 9f23 gfx kexts?
My card is 256M, PNY link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-NA-_-NA-_-NA
I've tried doing EFI custom already, but maybe I did not do it correctly... I selected custom, chose 256M, might have had a choice for VGA/DVI vs DVI/VGA, and installed. Did I need to add my card ID to the gfx kexts as well? (does one change the mask values to all FF's, or is that card-dependent?
sorry, I know these are basic questions. I have been trying to read and learn but so much of what "just works" for other folks in their guides is not working for this card.
