If you needed a JMicron kext or Intel one for your SATA controller, you would have known by now: you should get a kernel panic related to com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIFamily, com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort or com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIBlockStorage. At least that was my case, maybe if you have your drives in IDE you don't? If you do, you should use them in AHCI (change that in the BIOS).
