Actually - that's the dump for the 885. I did some digging yesterday, and there are reports of a bug in ALSA, resulting in many linux distros misidentifying the 889a as an 885. I tried a current Xubunutu CD on my hackintosh, and can verify that it also dumped as an 885. As a result of this bug, I suspect a lot of OSx86 users out there have propagated the error.

I found a dump for the 889a, and patched it in. System Profiler shows no built-in audio, but all the inputs and outputs appear in the Sound control panel, and in Audio-MIDI Setup. The two main channels seem to work (and better, too,) although I haven't had time to test everything else yet. If anyone else would like to test it, I've attached it to this post.
