The same happened for me twice already, still dont know the reason.
If you have backup copy of this file - instert installer dvd, boot into single user mode and copy the file back to where it should be. Thats how i fixed it the 2nd time. For the 1st time i just reinstalled the system...cant propose anything else. Or you can recreate the file somehow ( or copy it from another system but have no idea if it would work ) www.ultimae.com Panoramic music, for panoramic people. Updates on laptop Acer Aspire 5520
Well I have updates about AcerAspire 5520!
The SATA problems remains so I chose to install in external USB HD. I used kalyway dvd installer, with minimal specs for install (kernel sleep, smbios default by netkas, amd patch) and bingo! Some tweaking is required now: -internal SATA HD and DVD-CD drive are not detected -no audio -no internet -resolution set at 1074x768 when it could go to 1280x800 The first pbm is the most relevant as I need DVD-CD drive to access iDeneb DVD installer for some kext I need now that is included there ... keep looking for info and trying! any tiny piece of advice is welcome ![]() My hardware report is attached |

So we are still in the dark. I was hoping that the live dvd would solve some problems, although I think that we don't have some drivers for our laptops.
