can't burn iso file to DVD

I've downloaded at least three different iso files, and tried burning them to a dvd, using Roxio Media Manager, and Nero. Every time I get the mesg. "There was a problem writing to the disk", and the disks are of course useless.

Obviously I'm a newbie. Help Anyone??

burn the disks at the slowest possible speeds... make sure the disks have the correct amount of free space to be written to... make sure you aren't interrupting the process by doing other things on your computer which may screw with your burning.

Nero always worked well for me when I used windows.

i have found dvd data disks to be the most unreliable storage media..... If if they burn fine dont expect them to last long and dont expect to work on all dvd drives

I'll second that. I now use the restore function in Disk Utility to create an Installer using my 8GB flash drive and then installing the chameleon bootloader. This way I've got a faster booting and installing via the flash disk and don't have to worry about the installer going bad. ALSO, since it is read-only, we don't have to worry about ruining the flash disk after its thousands of write-overs.

Thanks, guys, for the help. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I since discovered that the actual DVD burner was toast. Since replaced it and burning works fine. Thks again for the prompt help.
