Is there any way to downscale AMD CPU frequency? I've got Turion64 X2 working at 1600MHz (also capable of 800MHz clock). Top speed makes it rather hot resulting in fan always on and quick battery drain.

If someone knows some place where I could find speedstep kext source that might be useful too. Haven't got lots of darwin hacking experience yet, but looking at forcedeth driver seem to be not that scary. Just XCode being PITA due to weird (as for former linux user) keymap

The latest 'speedstep' kernel might be worth checking out.
