I've used iatkos on that laptop and here's what I have found to be not working.
cpu - dual core does not work and using dsdt does not help
mouse/kb - tapping on the mouse pad does not work with voodoops2
sound - don't use the included voodoohda, install the latest version and it will work, both headphone and speaker. I dono about line out or optical
The wiki you linked if for a retail install of 10.6.x, I have tried it and have had 90% success.
1) make a usb installer
2) include only voodoops2, appleacpips2nub, fakesmc (no dsdt needed)
3) install
4) boot, you should get into 64 bit mode with no problem.
5) install voodoohda and any other kext you might need
I had a problem with keyboard detection so i used an external keyboard for the install, need to find a working version of voodoops2 i guess. You might not have this problem.
As for wireless, it's best to cough up about $30 to get a broadcom equivalent of apple wireless. I got an atheros one and it refuses to work on 10.6.x
Hope this helps
