Customisation options on iDeneb...and others

I have been having problems in getting any Hackintosh distro to run on my current hardware, iDeneb has been the only one that I can get to do a complete install.
Have tried iAtkos, iDeneb and Kalyway. Any others anyone can recommend I try?

I am assuming that I m choosing the wrong custom options when I install.

So can some one tell me, Do I have to choose Custom Options from each section, (Kernel, Video, sound, chipset etc) or can I just choose some, and the ones I do not choose will load a default set of drivers.

I have been trying (on and off) for the past year or more to get a Hackintosh machine working and so far have only once managed a complete install that actually boots, and then that failed as it turned out that the board was cracked and never ran when the board was screwed into a case.

it would help if you posted what hard ware you are using.

Thanks.

I have been trying to get a Hackintosh machine to work for 6- 10 months or more, but still not got a working system

I had posted the hardware on a different thread,
http://www.infinitemac.com/f4/how-to...521/#post38681

but did not want to ask a second question on that thread. Have not had any response since posting the hardware list on the other thread, so here is what I have:

Hi, you could try the IPC 10.5.6 final distro as it gives more options for loading drivers/kexts than most of the others.
Try 9.5.0 kernal, nvdarwin xxx video, intel achx sata driver, patched usb driver,ps2 keyboard(if that is what you have),patch dsdt,applesmbios-27 rev3 macpro or imac. These are just basics to see if you can get past your black screen, you may need to try different video driver. you said in your post that you have nvidia graphics but yur lspci shows ati check your bios to see if the agp/pcie card has been enabled.
Dont load any more than is neccessary for now no audio/ethernet etc, if it works you will have to reinstall to get the rest.
Ensure that the partition you are loading onto is clean and formated to fat 32,
if/when you get to restart press F8 then -f,

Thanks Raz, i'll give it a go.
Yes you are correct, there is a mistake regarding the graphics card. I took the original video card spec from the sticker on front of the case, but it looks like a different card has been put in at some point.
