- You can also switch Vista from using Intel RAID Driver to Using MS AHCI Driver without reinstalling, see this for more info or google a bit. It involves a bit of registry editing and can be complicated a bit for a newbie.

just quickly looked @ the links you provided, seems easy enough and 'do-able' . will try tonight and get back to you......HOWEVER, if you don't hear from me for a week or so, PLEASE come and rescue me!!! lol.
