Dual DVI on 4870 iDeneb 10.5.8

running a sapphire 1gb HD4870 and trying to run Dual DVI so I can output onto my HDTV, now my TV does have a VGA connection so I run a VGA2DVI connector for the back of the computer. Where i'm having a problem is that I get a picture on the screen up until I loads the desktop. What I mean is I see the boot screens and I see the white apple screen as it boots the OS then right when the screen goes to my background POOF the signal disappears. I have tried a HDMI to DVI cable and it actually pulls up a profile call Sharp HDMI in the display profiler.

I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten a VGA2DVI to work dual DVI with this card on the same OS iDeneb 10.5.8, if not i'll just buy another HDMI and do it that way
