Hi, and welcome to InfiniteMac!

As you can see by my signature, iDeneb is really the only distro that has fully worked on my notebook.

iDeneb v1.4 w/10.5.7 upgrade is a great option.

I do not have an nVidia, I have a crappy Intel GMA X3100. Nvidia's are more supported than Intel on Macs, so I would say go with iDeneb!

You may have problems w/ AMD. I have a Intel Centrino Chipset (GM965). with a Core 2 Duo @ 1.83 GHz all cores working w/Vanilla kernel.

I would suggest using the Voodoo kernel on Install, then use AnV XNU. For updating to 10.5.7 make sure AnV kernel is backed up!

I have a ALC268 working perfectly!

The only changes from your Laptop to mine, is the model, CPU and Graphics.

Hope this helps,
~ Cleo
