apple -> system prefs -> network -> bottom left there is a "+" and "-"
delete all and create e new one.
Also, go to spotlight and type "network utility", first tab "info" there is a dropdown menu below "Please select network interface for information"
en0 is normally ethernet
en1 is wifi
check if it shows up there

unable to manually create manual wifi connection as there is no option for wifi/airport and in network utility only shows en0 ethernet in the dropdown menu.
