HPET: map device register failed [10.5.6 ipc]
It does not matter how i install os x, i really just want to use it as I have never had the chance. I am now trying with Qemu/kvm with the iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 Final distro. I am also using the AQEMU front end. Installed fine, and the installer was quite responsive, when i clicked on disk utility it opened the menu... no lag.
Anyway, my problem. When booting with any of the following: -v, -f -v, platform=X86PC, platform=86PC, -x, -x -f, -s, rd=disk0s2 (even tried disk0s1) I get the same error: HPET: map device register failed. then a lot of stuff about uuid's and finally, "Still waiting for root device". I am pretty sure that the uuid's can help solve the issue, but I have no clue about what HPET is (I did google it, but didn't really find much that could help me grasp the concept). I tend to overcomplocate things anyways. QEMU/KVM setup: 40GB hd image 1 partition "macos" have tried Extended Journalized fs and just extended, same result. Have tried mbr and the default (can't remember what it is) no help. My actual lappy's (yes, an hp dv6029wm laptop running ubuntu 10.04 beta currently) I believe my chipset is an nvidia mcp67, i know I have an amd turion x64 x2 mobile processor... MOBO: Quanta 30cf physical id:0 version 85.26 HD: ata, hitachi hts5452 version: bbfo display: c67 geforce 7150M / nforce 630M My southbridge is an nforce I know that, but can't remember how i found out the exact details.... My bios has no AHCI option, nothing but boot order, vram, system testing/restore, and time. Very basic. it is a phoenix. I am willing to give you any info you need as long as either I know how or you give me a heads up on how to find the info. For the moment I am only trying to virtualize in Qemu /kvm... If i could find a way to install on my hd it would be great. have tried kalyway (it was in mid 2009, not sure which version, 10.4.x i think) it booted to install, no HD showed up. Tried the ipc version I mentioned above, will not boot to installer. So, here is the summary: 1. osx86 in qemu/kvm installed but "still waiting for root device" after error: HPET: map device register failed. Kind of have the feeling i am not customizing the install right. 2. Would love to get osx86 onto the same lappy i am using now.... ideas, help appreciated! |
