Internet Help
Hi, I have had a really smooth install of iATKOS v51 onto my Dell E520 apart from 2 easily fixed issues:
1: No Sound but thanks to VoodooHDA.kext........Thankyou !! 2: Intel 82562v 10/100 not working - but easily and completely fixed using Intel 82566mm.kext Now this is where I am stuck, my router is on the ground floor of the house and can't be moved as that is where the telephone point is. I normally access the internet on this machine via a Netgear WG111T Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter for which there are no kexts that I (and it seems plenty of other people ![]() Could somebody spare me a little time and let me know what I need to do do get this working ? Thanks in advance from me and everybody near me..... ![]() |

It would probably help if you told us what you've tried so far.
![]() I assume you've enabled Internet Connection Sharing on the XP machine? Can you ping the XP machine? by address or name |

Well, try pinging the XP machine. Start by opening a command prompt in XP, from the Start menu select run, then in the window that opens type
cmd and hit enter, that should open a terminal for you, now type ipconfig to get the hostname and ip address for the XP machine. In OS X either use a terminal or Network Utility to ping those. From a terminal you can do Code:
ping -c 5 www.google.com Post back the results. 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
