i am on my way with this distro. install went fine so far.(sb600, ppf2)
but it hangs halfway in the gui, blue background and mouse pointer, but no further.
only thing working is booting with -x.
one thing i might try is installing without gfx drivers / removing ati..2000.kexts.
mandatory options for my AMD machine are voodoo kernel and DSDT patch and chipset driver, right?
btw: i´m installing from usb stick, not dvd.. 
EDIT: i removed ati 2000 kext and installed anew. working fine so far
