Your problem with the USB might come from the fact that you use chocolate_kernel... I don't really know what that is but you should use the appropriate legacy_kernel for your OSX version. If after you changed your kernel you still have that problem, try this site: http://www.osx86.net/ It has a lot of kexts and interesting apps that could help you.
