great idea, but no go. i tried removing the vodoo preference pane with appzapper
and then followed your instructions. still didn't work. do you think i should try reinstalling everything?

I did the same as you, went straight to 10.6.7.

I had a similar issue... After putting the voodoohda.kext in the general extensions folder(as well as all your other .kext), you must run the updateextensions. Be patient, and it should ask for your password once at the begining, and once near its completion. This can take a while... like 5 minutes or so of it just turning the circle thing. Just wait till it tells you its done. Then hit ok, and finally install the preferences file by double clicking on it(you may have to restart, though I think after the update runs fine you don't- can't hurt).

I was impatient a few times, and had the same issue about installing the preferences, I just had to make sure that the updater completed, and then it would let me instal it without error.
