Thanks. That's really helpful. I'm definitely going for a full blown AMD Desktop solution eventually, but presently, I need an extremely portable system. I guess my options are limited to notebooks then.
One thing I was considering is the newer Macbook (white). The aluminium ones don't have firewire apparently, wtf is Apple thinking. The specified graphics card on it according to the Apple website is NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I think that might be sufficient for my present needs. But again I will need to run Windows XP along with OSX on it (I might even throw in Ubuntu, just cos I really like Linux).
So I guess my question is whether I can get a reasonable performance (without any driver issues) running FCP on OSX and Avid MC on Windows, all on the new Apple Macbook (NOT pro) white.
