Phenom X3 - Does Mac OS X leopard support 3 cores?

Hello!
So, After many problems with my current PC, I will buy a new one. But I have a doubt about the CPU I should use. Since Mac uses Intel processors, and they only produces 2 or 4 cores processors, Will my Mac OS X leopard support the 3 cores? And the rest of the new configuration will be ok?

Asus M3A78-EM
Kingston ddr2 800 1x1 Gb (will work the dual channel?)
HD sata II 250Gb Sansung

I intended to use iDeneb 10.5.5 v1,3, or some of the other ones I got: iAtkos v4a, Kalyway 10.5.2, leo4allv5 or Zephyroth's Rev2, which of them will work best? Since I have 8 DVDs here (including tigers) At first I don't want to download anything else, unless it's the best alternative.

Thanks for all.
Best regards,
Rafael.

PROTIP: Stay away from AMD and use iPC, it's the most updated right now.

Thanks for the tip, but pay for Intel stuffs right now is out of questions. This iPC have the full language package that I need (Brazilian Portuguese). But my main concern is about the triple-core, do I will have problems with the third core?

Probably not, but it's hard to tell, you may need to use the cpus=1 flag at boot in order to get the system to boot, which would essentially defeat the purpose of your odd-numbered core processor.

At best, all I can say is try and see what happens.
