Realtek 8169 not working in SL install
Hello,
I am new here and this is my first build. I went off of Adam Pash's build on Lifehacker, pretty much exactly the same. The Realtek 8169 is not being recognized by the system and I don't see any buttons to add the driver. I have been searching around and it seems that the 8169 driver is native to the OS. I haven't found a kext for it anywhere, so I am assuming it is something easy that I am not doing. Thanks for your help. Matt |

In Mobo Rev 2.0 there is no Realtek anymore. They changed the NIC to Atheros AR8131 which is not supported by OSX anyway. (AFAIK).
Look at page 7 of printed user's manual. Try a cheap ad-on card with supported chip. I personaly gave up and make use of a D-LINK DWA-547 (WLAN). Need to patch ID in IONetworkingFamily.kext. (OSX 10.6) Last edited by tuxuser33; 12-23-2009 at 02:50 AM. |
