I opened this thread for Beta Testers only. (If anyone other than them put a message here it will be deleted).
I want you to:

- Tell what works. (if something doesn't work right after the installation but if you managed to get it to work, explain how).
- Tell what doesn't work.
- Give your specs.

No comment here, just feedback.

Mac OS X 10.6.3 • 2.8 GHz Intel Core I7 860 • ASUS P7P55D • 2 GB 2 Ghz DDR3 • ATI RADEON XFX 4890 1GB • 2 x Hitachi 160 GB Serial-ATA • PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112 • LaCie Desktop Harddrive 750 GB USB

hy zeph.. i'm sorry to report that rev 2 is not working for me

Problems:
1. (install)at 5-8 minutes left the screen goes gray it doesn't restart or anything just stays there.. if i restart it manually it boots into osx and says still waiting for root device..
2.after the root device error i use the "a minute left" solution, after it finishes to install(again)it restarts normally, now when i try to enter osx it gives me this error "disk0s1: I/0 error. 0 [level3] [readUID 0] etc"(pic that i sent you 2-3 days ago).
3 i did the same thing again(a minute left solution) now i don't get any error but i get stuck at creating account
thats all

My report about Rev.2 Installation:

I'm testing Rev.2 in my notebook:
CPU: AMD Mobile Sempron 3400+ (SSE3, 64bit)
VGA: Nvidia GeForce Go 6150
Chipset: Nforce MCP51
HD: Fujitsu SATA 40GB
LAN: Nvidia
Wireless: Broadcom

Installation goes fine with some combination.

Well, I made something, downloaded netkas pc efi v8 (I have to use some special for amd???) put on grub as kernel, so I get boot on Leo, but, I get message from Nforce Sata driver, something like:
AppleNforceAta: scan 1 disks found
(... other system messages ...)
Until here is ok, but for some reason Leo tries to load again and I receive this:

AppleNforceAta: scan 0 disks found
AppleNforceAta: sata phy reset failed

And...
Still waits for root device.

Maybe it could be because on installation I choose to install the newest kernel???
Edit: I try without the newer kernel: sametthing happens

Resume: installs fine but don't boot

I downloaded Rev.2 and installed it in my Opteron 175 OC'd to 2.5ghz, 2gh ddr ram, two pci-e 6600gt video cards. The installation goes through without a hitch. However, after completing the installation, it will not boot unless Rev.2 DVD is in drive, but booting will eventually stop even with the DVD in place. I tried installing on a partition and a separate HDD, with all three partitioning methods: GUID, MBR, and the 3rd option...none booted without the DVD in drive.

I will be happy to beta-test it on my system if you are wanting the same thing.

Thank so much, Zephyroth!

My hardware:
Opteron 175
DFI LanParty Ultra D system board
internal sound disabled; SoundBlaster Live! value pci card used instead
WinFast TV2000 XP TV Tuner Card
Builtin Marvell Yukon Chipset based Ethernet Controller

I installed Kalyway on a friend's machine. I was manage to install it without booting with the DVD, using the HD manager and using it's software to correct some incorrect paths or pendencies. I forgot the name... I'll see later and report in here!

@ perhaps & jsmach:

Try this: boot install DVD in safe mode (option -s) and enter following commands

fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0
update
f 1
w (confirm with y)
q

Then reboot, it should work now. Use rdisk0 if you only have one hd in the system, I had more so I needed to use rdisk1. I'm using a seperate harddisk for OS X.

[cite] emaildopedrooo:[/cite]Hi zephyroth,

My motherboard is ASUS M2N-E, with NVIDIA nForceฎ 570 Ultra chipset.

I've tried to install the Tiger releases (TubGirl and iATKOS), but I don't have success. I cannot format my partitions, they just appears at Disk Manager, but they're inactive (a gray color).

So I just wanna know if you have beta testers for nForce 570 chipset, because I've read somewhere that the problem it's the chipset, and not my SATA HDD.

Thks, and sorry, I don't speak english =\
Same thing here and I have the same chipset as you (same motherboard). I'm not sure but if you try with an ATA HD (not SATA) I think it will work. I tried asking about this here with no help. Maybe two asking about the same thing someone will help us.

I would be happy to know if someone among the betatesters use this same motherboard that we have with SATA HD. If not, please, ask Pedrooo, me, someone else with more knowledge to be a betatester.

BTW, I don't you open another treat with the betatester configs? This way, people that still have problems with its configs would feel more comfortable seeing that his problem is being working out or fixed or whatever. Just an idea that would keep people from asking this kind of questions.

Thanks agains!
