Hello! I've recently become really fond of the Mac OS, since we have an iMac at school.

I have three computers, but I want Mac OS X to run on my new laptop, which is a Toshiba Qosmio X500-10Z.

Since I'm new to all of this, all I've managed to do is install Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on the laptop. I couldn't boot with the CD, my laptop would just reboot itself after "Starting Darwin x86" or something like that (I tried various busratios and cpus=1 stuff, nothing worked). Anyways, I have a desktop with Core i7 920 and a HD5870 so I was able to install Mac through that computer. Now, however, to start the OS I have to enter in -x (Safemode?) and then it'll boot up properly.

Nothing works though, LAN, WiFi, graphics, sound... it's all "dead".
It has an Atheros AR8131 for LAN, the WiFi is a Realtek RTL8191SE, the graphics is a nVIDIA GTS 250M, and the sound is a conexant pebble HD smartaudio thingie. Oh, also, the processor is a Core i7 720QM. I believe the chipset is PM55.

Is this computer simply too new for the Mac OS? Or is its components perhaps never going to be supported?

If only I could get the graphics card working and either LAN or WiFi... plus sound...
