well it's almost do or die time

i've been doing alot of reading... forum surfing, and wiki browsing through various sites here lately, and have decided it as time to go "balls deep" in the osx86 world...

don't know how tough it will be, still a little sketchy on the installs i have tried, but here's what i got

amd athlon 64 3800+ 2.4ghz Orleans core
e-machine d5239
mobo: mcp61 sm2ma
video: Nvidia 9500gt 1gb ddr2
ram:1.5gb ddr2 5300 single channel
HDD:
-toshiba 111gb sata drive (re-purposed 360 hd)
-maxtor 30gb ata drive (win7)
-wd 250gb sata drive ( downloads and such)
mouse: wacom bamboo fun tablet
keyboard: oem hp media keyboard
wireless belkin usb stick f5d7050 - v4
audio realtec hd audio ( gives me trouble with a windows install so i'm preparing for the worst on it)

still haven't decided on leo or snow leo, or which route, got to the disk utilities portion on the kalway leo, but think i had a faulty disk, ipc gives the root device error. think i'm gonna hold off til Thursday and shell out a little for both a pci sata card and another ata hd just in case.

what are your thoughts? suggestions? advice?

well thanks for the lack of input

but i am happy to say i have gotten osx 10.5.4 running semi smooth just have to get my ps2 keyboard, and video card recognized but there seems to be plenty of guides for such things.

ended up going with the leo4all v4, had hazard's 10.6.1 running, but after a failed attempt at installing the usb wifi stick i have it crashed and would load up but i couldn't click anything, and just got annoyed... besides that i couldn't for the life of me remember what settings i had put in there..

all in all it seems to be working ok for now... like i said just the ps/2 kb and the 9500gt 1gb graphics card left... that and firefox... yuck i don't like preinstalled web browsers

ok for the empire you suggested, would i need to pull something from the leo install for that, or should it let me install from the retail disk (was under the impression that i had to patch an iso or someting)

either way will give it a shot... research time again.

maybe the original empireefi4amd iso doesn't contain enough drivers for your specs, try customize it, here:

will definately give it a shot, if it doesn't work though, i'll probably go on and just build a little net top, been looking at the foxconn boards with the atom dual cores and they seem well enough to throw a vanilla 10.6.1 on... though only time will tell.
