Would be nice with a OSx86 version for VirtualBox

Hi!

It would be nice if there would be a OSx86 version with VirtualBox in mind so it works directly with Mouse Integration, Network, Sound etc.
For example have a section in Customize specially for VB so people know what is needed to be able to get it to work in VB.

I have been succeeded to install Leopard in VB thanx to Black Trinitron
(http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=207334)

But I'm still testing on what I need to get everything to work because im not 100% sure what I need in Customization.
Plus it looks different in each version of OSx86 (for example iATKOS, iDeneb, iPC etc.)

Thanx!

Hi & Welcome to InfiniteMac Community.

Well I am not completely sure about the hardware beeing emulated by VB - I am having something like one of the older Intel chipsets in mind from earlier tries with that software, but I am not sure 'bout that & it might variate depending on the VB version you are using.

It would be great if you could install this package http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=113219 in your Guest-OSx86 system (it works with 32-Bit Kernel only) & then post what's beeing returned, when you enter "lspci -nn" on the Terminal.
When we have this information & when you tell us what functions (Sound, etc) you are exactly missing, we might be able come up to you with a solution to you.

Hi and Thanx Imkantus!

This text I got with Leopard 10.5.6:
Code:

00:01.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 ISA [Natoma/Triton II] [8086:7000]

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Innotek Systemberatung GmbH VirtualBox Graphics Adapter [80ee:beef]
00:03.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82545EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) [8086:100f] (rev 02)

00:06.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Apple Computer Inc. KeyLargo/Intrepid USB [106b:003f]

00:0b.0 USB Controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller [8086:265c]
00:0d.0 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation Mobile SATA AHCI Controller [8086:2829] (rev 02)
Sorry for the delay but I had to type it down manually..

* Network works when I have in bridged mode (but not NAT).
* Mouse Integration (from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=113219) does not work (because it is just for Snow Leopard!)
* Sound does not work (Device not found)
* OS feels slow but it seems to work good in general

But these stuff can probably work if I know what to choose in Customization..

Thanx!

Maybe with adding your Device ID 0x24158086 to kext content / Info.plist ?
