c't 6/2009 has an article about PearC Starter and states all technical details about the system.

They say that boot123 is being used and an unaltered Retail Leopard DVD is put in the box with the PC. And guess what: iLife is missing.

So this is bad value for money, but as in a thread here in the forum, PearC makers seam to be using the EFI-partition to store some needed kexts...

I am just curious how they make it possible to boot from HDD - with my system this does not work.

MacBook Alu 2,4 GHz, 4GB, Seagate 7200.4 500GB, iPhone 3G 3.0
Shuttle SG33G5, Intel C2Q Q6600 2,4 GHz, 4 GB, Samsung HE753Li (retail Leo 10.5.6), Seagate Sata for Vista, PX-810SA, Nvidia 9600 GT 512MB

SG33G5 runs Retail Leopard 10.5.6 (vanilla) thanks to boot123!
