Invaluable!! My initial Leopard installs somehow managed to corrupt 2 of my USB drives (my suspicions are from some random crashes during activity and possibly the reboot/shutdown issues???)
switched back to 4.9 to find that Disk utility seemed to make the problem worse and I started to face the fact that I'd lost a lot of Data (and a piece of my soul).
Thank god for DW!! It succesfully managed to restore all the corrupted and shifted directories whilst also subtely reminding me of that age old ritual of backing up.

Highly recommend this bit o kit and a spindle of blanks.

CPU: 3Ghz AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
Ram: 2gb Rambo DDRii 667
Graphics: Nvidea MSI nx8600GT 512MB -- NvInject 512 (fully supported 100% working)
Audio~External: Focusrite Saffire -- (100% working - ootb)
Ethernet: 8101E -- Realtek R1000 (100% working)
HDD: 320GB WD SataII (150gb Boot Partition)

Actually, without being an expert on topic, similar things happened to me in the past, and there tends to be an "easy" fix to the problem, at least so you can disk mount and disk-utilitize it properly (then a repair disk works for me): just leave the usb disk plugged in. A loong time. Like 30 minutes. For me, three times at least (two different drives), the disk ended up mounting. Each time indeed, one of the partition was damaged, but could be repaired.

But disk warrior is indeed great software, it saved me from windows destroying a firewire drive repeatedly (odd problem: the firewire drive mounts and works perfectly in mac os, but if i put in windows, it will mount and work fine, but refuse to dismount, though i am not accessing it. then if i just turn off the computer, the proper way, at reboot the partition table of the drive is fucked. odd to say the least)
