Hello. I just installed Reason 4 from the DVD with no problems and it works flawlessly. Use the DVD from the beginning, no image. It installs then copies the 2 sound banks and then it ejects the DVD and you have to enter the serial. Works perfectly on my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop using onboard sound (12ms latency with onboard sound!! on windows I get 49ms with the same onboard sound without ASIO drivers).

It's much easier than that. Maybe try taking the DVD out of the picture. You just need to trick the installer into thinking that the DVD is actually inserted. I would download Roxio Toast Titanium. Open the application and then open the Utilities Menu. Under Utilities, click Mount Disk Image. Then select and open your disk image. On the Desktop it should look like this:

Ok it's true, mounting an image as a disk should be the same. In my case I just used the hybrid Reason 4 DVD which works perfectly well both for PC and Mac. If you have an ISO and it doesn't work by mounting just burn it and use the disk.
