Ok, first the hardware:

AMD Athlon X2 4200+ (S939)
2 gigs of DDR400 RAM
Abit KN8-SLI nForce4 (with nForce LAN and ALC850 sound)
GeForce 8800 GTS 640 mb (G80)
250 gig SATA2 hard drive

I'm using Zephyroth's 10.5.2 release, which works rather nicely, except for one really annoying problem... Randomly when I'm doing anything, I first get a spinning beach ball on every application, then all the open apps crash, then the whole system sort of freezes - very soon I see the spinning indicator on top of my desktop for about 5 minutes before my system reboots itself This is what appears in the log before the reboot: "we crashed at instruction 0xffff0315 (PID 0)"

WTF is this and can it be fixed? I really do not wish to go back to XP

Thanks!

Same problem. I think Agrafuese solved it, but somehow I can't get him to find our message. I tried to whisper, but I think whispers still go down the list with time as other normal messages (which is not a very good idea if you ask me..) and in view of the activity of the board, I don't think he saw the messages.

Not using safari may help, but I could be wrong.

Same issue here, identically. I've tried all the kernels from the Zeph rev1 disk and I'm currently using the 9.2.2 kernel with the same issues.

Don't think it's safari related as it happens to me when left overnight with nothing but the finder. Agreed hyper, "really annoying"!! Especially as everything else is perfect.
